Stewarding Your Health: A Calling and a Commitment

Stewarding Your Health: A Calling and a Commitment

In the WeShare community, one topic consistently rises to the top: preventative care. It’s a concept we’re passionate about because it has measurable benefits for both physical and mental health. Simple changes in nutrition and fitness habits can significantly reduce time and expenses at the doctor’s office.

But preventative care goes even deeper than that. For us, it’s a way to practice the spiritual discipline of stewardship. As Christians, we believe God has made us in His image and entrusted us with the care of all He created. Stewarding our health—body, mind, heart, and soul—is the foundation for being good stewards of everything else in our lives.

The Spiritual Discipline of Stewardship

In Matthew 25, Jesus tells the parable of the talents. Each servant was entrusted with a specific amount, and the master later returned to see how they’d used what was given. The two servants who invested their talents wisely were rewarded with more, while the one who hid his out of fear faced rebuke.

This parable challenges us to consider how we steward the gifts God has given us, including our bodies, minds, hearts, and souls. Each of us has been uniquely equipped, and we are called to cultivate and care for what is entrusted to us.

Recognizing Obstacles and Relying on God

We know this is easier said than done. Obstacles like chronic pain, mental illness, financial strain, or fear can make stewarding our health overwhelming. But God sees every challenge you face. He understands the complexity of your circumstances and promises to walk with you as you rely on His strength to navigate them.

At WeShare, we’re committed to supporting you in this journey. Through partnerships with Hope for the Heart, RightNow Media, and She Reads Truth (SRT), we aim to provide resources that address not only your physical wellness but also your spiritual growth.

Spiritual Tools to Guide You

Our partners offer a wealth of tools to help you steward your health and faith:
