The Heart of Good Friday

Everyone in a huddle

The Heart of Good Friday

“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”

-Isaiah 53:5

At WeShare, we reflect on Good Friday as more than just a day of remembrance. It’s a moment to reconnect with the heart of the Gospel. The sacrifice of Jesus was foretold by the prophet Isaiah, and through His suffering, we find healing, peace, and purpose.

This day reminds us of the love that carried the cross—a love so deep it bore our pain, carried our sorrows, and took on our burdens. At the center of Good Friday is a Savior who chose suffering so we could know wholeness.

But the message doesn’t end at the cross. At WeShare, we believe Good Friday calls us to live in response to Christ’s sacrifice. That means showing up for one another in big and small ways with compassion, support, and prayer.

Our community is built on this principle: to share in each other’s needs just as Christ shared in ours. We don’t only care during life’s biggest crises. We show up for one another in everyday needs, reflecting the sacrificial love we’ve received.

This Good Friday, we remember that true care begins with Christ and continues through His people. May we be a community that lives the heart of Good Friday not just in words, but in how we love, support, and serve one another.
